Little Mo - Staffie, Bitch (2 Years)

Post  Forest Dog Rescue on Thu Dec 22, 2011 11:11 pm

Little Mo has come to us from the Stray Pound and is very scared at the moment. She is coming out of her shell more and more every day, especially if there is a ball to play with, however she still has a while to go. Despite being so unsure of what is happening to her, Little Mo has behaved beautifully whilst being handled by staff and being examined by the vet, only cowering and curling her tail between her legs if she finds something particularly scary. She will need someone who can give her lots of TLC in her new home

Little Mo - Big Yes

Post  Jeanette on Tue Dec 27, 2011 12:55 pm

Little Mo was my first Christmas Morning walking partner, Tim escorted us to the playpen saying she is reluctant to walk with new people and needs plenty of reassurance. Well, what she didn't need was anyone to play ball with. Tim had given her two new toys, one she wasn't at all interested in and one she demolished within five minutes! She loved it though and it was lovely to watch her play. After that we went on the walk and only once did she wriggle and try to slip her collar pulling backwards towards her kennell. A few soft words and she was happy to be off again, I had an ample supply of warm hog dog sausage and in exchange she gave me a few kisses and big cuddles. Little Mo walks well, is a pretty little girl and so craves a loving home where she can give all her love to someone who will appreciate her.

If only I had pockets deep enough ....

Post  Julie on Tue Dec 27, 2011 9:00 pm

As I had a little bit of free time before "road testing" Missy for her foster venture, I took Little Mo out for a play on the patio area ... I was told that she was a little bit timid but I never noticed this to be the case. She came out and my heart melted .... she is stunning - she did not pull me on the lead, and she did not show any nervousness or fear at all.

We walked up to the patio area. If she started to pull I just stopped walking, gave a little pull on the lead and told her to stop pulling. She got it straight away and off we went again. She loves the tennis ball but her teeth stick in it and she has to paw it off her bottom jaw - it was funny to watch and she obviously knew what she was doing - no stressful situation - almost just part of the play. She would bring the ball back to me and give it up... albeit with a little hesitation as soon as she had let it go.

I wanted to see how good she was at listening so we ran - I ran off (she still had the ball in her mouth) and I called "This way" ... she raced alongside me, bendy tail following close behind lol.... I changed direction and called "this way" and again she stopped and changed direction too - running alongside me all the while.

What a lovely, beautiful and wonderful dog - I only wished I could have stolen her all for myself and not being a staffy -type person, that is a REALLY BIG compliment Little Mo .....

Little Mo has captured many hearts at FDR. I took her for a walk for the first time the other day and she was sweet and loving that she caught my heart instantly. There is no aggression in her whatsoever, and only noticed the fear and nervousness when she realized we were heading to the field. Instantly she pulled to go back, but I picked her up and carried her to the playpen. She came out of her shell then! She loves chasing the ball and smacking it with her paw, but refused to pick it up while it was covered in mud! What a face she pulled!

Mo would need a home where she would get the care and patience she needs to overcome her fears. No doubt it would be worth it, as this little girl has so much love to give I love you x

little mo mo awwwww she so sweet and on my forever growing favorite list, shes loves to play and i have found that balls are not her favorite toy (might be because they slightly muddy) but however she loved the squidey pig and was very good at dropping the pig when told and fetched well too..her bent or broken tail and arched back doesn't stop the girl from play shes very quick and nimble. managed to walk her round top field but bottom field became a little to much.. mayb the sound of the traffic on the road near by..i didnt push her too much as it was our second outting together..defin a lovely girl! x

walked little mo today...im starting to have a soft spot for her as im sure others do too!i managed to walk her round the fields and enjoyed a play in both pens.. She became a little difficult to walk would just halt and i didnt want to bribe her with to manny treats so i had a think - i had squidey pig in my pocket so used this when she became a little scared or mayb strong headed about what direction she was going to walk in..id show her piggy and she'd forget tht she'd come to a halt and begin to walk again..she never once jumped up for it - i just used it as a tool to help her walk shouting wheres piggy piggy if she halted then she became focused so piggy went bk into pocket and we enjoyed the rest of our walk together x

Anne - another great video - it is so lovely to see Little Mo run and how compliant she is with returning the ball. As I said on an earlier post - I so wish I had deep pockets on that day I walked her ... you would have just seen a Little Mo sized wriggly lump in my coat as I left!
