Zeek - Staffie, Dog (4-5 Years)

Post  Forest Dog Rescue on Mon May 30, 2011 9:24 am

Zeek is a striking young boy who loves everyone! He has a happy go lucky nature and is learning to walk well on the lead.

Zeek seems to get on well with other dogs but may prefer to be the only male dog in the house.

Zeek loves to play ball! He knows how to sit, fetch and leave the ball on command and is also good on the recall when off lead in an enclosed area.

Wonder boy

Post  jesses mum on Fri Jul 15, 2011 8:10 pm

I have seen others walking Zeek & thinking what a stunner, today was my turn & wow a real pleasure to walk, fun to play with in the playpen, he loves his ball but brings it back to be thrown again, except when he found a dropped treat & left me to retrieve it!! quiet to handle & enjoys all the usual Staffie rubs & a particular spot behind his ear. Took no notice of all the other dogs being walked & when you talk to him he keeps one ear back to listen & every now & then turns as if he wants to say something too. He is a good fun boy & will be top of my walking list next time.

Zeek

Post  Mystical on Tue Jul 19, 2011 12:46 pm

Zeek is such a wonderful dog. He is brilliant in the playpen, always stopping outside as if to say "Nope, this is my stop. You carry on if you want!" He always well mannered in the playpen, dropping the ball or tugger if you tell him too. He loves a cuddle on the benches, and is more than happy to eat a treat or two!

Zeek would make someone a lovely companion if given the chance. I love you

A great game of ball

Post  Nina on Mon Aug 29, 2011 5:36 pm

Today my niece and I had a really great time with Zeek playing ball. As usual he was very good at bringing his ball back. He was also very, very good and gentle around my niece. All in all yet again he showed what a fantastic boy he is. I will be adding some more pictures to his link (see the above post) shortly, so please see for yourself just how great he is!!

Zeek - no geek

Post  Jeanette on Sun Sep 25, 2011 12:58 pm

My first time with Zeek, it took us 3 attempts to get into the playpen but he was quite accepting of the fact he would just have to wait, although there was no way I could have forgotten!! He is a star with the ball and never goes for your hand before the ball, simply wanting to watch your every move so he can run in the right direction! When he had tired a little he lay down, I got the lead ready, turned around and he had the ball again, only one more throw and that was enough, then intently watched the lawnmower men while walking very well. I was impressed with this strong but gentle guy who just wants to play, he is handsome too and would love to share his passion for play with you, can anyone give him a chance please????

Zeeks Day Out

Post  JeanW on Thu Nov 03, 2011 6:57 pm

Zeek has lots of energy to burn so yesterday we took him for a walk in the countryside. He was well behaved in the car lay on the back seat with his head on my lap. We met a horse and several other dogs all of which he took in his stride. He is easy to control on the lead. Although he pulls a little he was happy and confident and really enjoyed his walk. At the end of our walk we stopped at a café and he enjoyed a nice sausage which he ate in a few seconds. Zeek is a lovely dog and I am looking forward to taking him out again.

Zeek

Post  JeanW on Fri Nov 11, 2011 10:27 pm

Zeek is a lovely handsome dog who has been at the kennels for a while now and i can't understand why he has not found a home. Today we enjoyed another long walk with him in the forest, he really enjoys his time out of the kennels and is gaining more confidence. He is quite a strong boy but walks well on his lead and if he pulls a little will wait when told to. Zeek just needs someone to notice him and give him the chance he deserves.

A Walk in the Forest

Post  JeanW on Thu Nov 17, 2011 1:29 pm

Zeek seems to know when it is the day for his special walk becase after leaving his kennel he does not pull to get to the play pen but heads around the corner to the car park. Yesterday we walked him on an extended lead and he loved the freedom to explore away from the path but soon realised he could only go so far, when fully extended he did not pull just waited for us to catch up. He got quite excited when he came close to a squirrel but soon forgot about it and carried on with his walk. We passed several dogs both on and off leads and he was fine showing no sign of aggression. We stopped to have a cup of tea and he was very well behaved around the visitor centre and waited patiently for his sausage to be cooked. Zeek is a happy friendly well behaved dog who would soon settle into a new home.

Zeek 27.11.2011

Post  Lala on Sun Nov 27, 2011 7:22 pm

Zeek did only have a walk in the kennel fields with me today and he was not amused when the playpen was busy and we could not use it staight away. I bet he thought that was really rubbish- that is how he sounded when he was making these funny noises. He was constantly pulling into the direction of the play pen and finally we could get in- what a joy!

Then a 10 minute not stop ball play followed. He was so out of puff but so did not want to stop...

Zeek is a beautiful and lovable boy. Heis young(-ish), strong, powerfull, energetic and good company.

Jean's update on Zeek

Post  Ria on Thu Dec 01, 2011 11:53 am

"We enjoyed another country walk with Zeek today. He has become so responsive and happy during his walks it is difficult to understand why Zeek has not found a permanent home. We took him to Habberley Valley and he definitely knew that something different was happening when we drove past Wyre Forest. When we arrived at the valley he was a little unsure at first but soon gained his normal confidence and was clearly enjoying his walk. he appeared to enjoy the open areas of the valley but also led us up and down the paths in the woodland. He particularly liked ploughing through the fallen leaves. We stopped off at Blackstone park for his usual sausage. Zeek has become really sociable and friendly with everyone and did not mind sharing a table with two other people. He is much more relaxed when he is away from the kennels enviroment and we would be happy for any prospective owners to accompany or meet him during his walk."

Zeek

Post  JeanW on Thu Dec 08, 2011 10:36 pm

Zeek has been at FDR for over six months and it's hard to know why he gets overlooked. He is a handsome boy with very distinctive markings well behaved happy and affectionate. We have been taking Zeek on his weekly walks in the forest and getting to know him for a few weeks now, at first he was a little unsure of where he was but took everything in his stride. He is now confident walks really well on his extended lead does not pull and is relaxed friendly and happy. He is now used to seeing walkers cyclists horses and other dogs. Zeek travels really well in the car and it is a pleasure to spend time with him.

When Zeek is out he is quite domesticated and will quickly settle into a home enviroment and become part of the family.
