Tag - Border Collie, Dog (4 Years)

Post  F on Mon May 30, 2011 9:30 am

Mary, one of FDR's Trustees, bought Tag from the Pound with a bad reputation. Nobody knew what was going on behind those beautiful blue eyes and even now we are only just scratching the surface.

Tag is learning that life isn’t all that bad at FDR and looks forward to playing ball every day. He's intelligent and has already learnt lots of obedience training with an enthusiasm that’s typical of his breed.

He is great on the lead and has a natural talent for agility.

Tag would be best suited to a home where he can spend a lot of time outdoors and even be given a chance to work.

He is not comfortable as a family pet so would be better in a situation where he can have lots of one to one time with someone who has the time and experience to continue his training.

Some more pictures of Tag

Post  Nina on Sun Aug 28, 2011 6:41 pm

I have never really met Tag before and don't know much about him except that he has been at FDR for a while now. As I wanted to take some new pictures of him I joined him and Mary in a game of ball in the playpen. It is obvious that he is a stunning dog, those eyes are just unbelievable, but I was quite impressed by his behaviour in the pen. He responded well to Mary's commands and was very playful, chasing the ball all over the pen, bringing it back to Mary every time and placing it in front of her. He got a bit hesitant only once and even then he gave up the ball after just a short talk. It is clear that a lot of time has been invested in his training and the results are visible.

The Tag

Post  kimmal on Sun Sep 11, 2011 2:12 pm

Awesome looking dog....photos dont do him justice....hes better in real life....a very shy dog....But soon gets used to a person....needs so much more than frantic ball play....altho he is very good at it.....he loves tennis balls...footballs....a food lover....tag is no fussy eater....needs someone to come and get to know him..//currently has a field view kennel...and is really coming along since moving up here from the main kennels....he used to nibble his blanket before but now hes stopped that....it is amazing what habits these dogs lose when they have a bit more one to one x

What a looker!!!!!

Post  Angela on Sun Sep 11, 2011 3:07 pm

I saw Tag today for the first time but I did not see him straight away becasue he is sooooo quiet, I simply did not nitice that he was there.

I was in the play pen with Diego while Tag was lying in his kennel just next to the pen, looking at us, totally relaxed, not saying a word.

We were in there for alomost one hour and Tag has not moved one bit in all that time. He just looked at me calmly when I spoke to him.

I almost got hypnotised by his blue eyes!!!

Stunning!!! The pictures are gorgeous but seeing im in reality is absolutely different.

He has got some magic that you can not fetch in a pic.

currently residing at our top kennels....chilled out....and just waiting for that special person willing to put in the time and effort to gain his trust.....absolutely gorgeous as always....has such a calm manner about him....a person experienced with collies who have had problems with humans would be ideal....but not essential because with love and patience this dog would make an ideal companion...x:lol: very loving when he gets to know someone

Tag!

O my goodness! first time ever I have been this close to Tag, I'm bowled over completely. He came and offered his toy to me and put it in my hand so gently, I fully understand Tag needs to be with people who have full on Collie awareness and he is not your ordinary domestic pet but saying that, Tag is a happy lad who needs to be treated with patience, he is so gentle but could also benifit and enjoy a life on the back of a tractor too. I look forward to Tag allowing me into his world again as and when he's ready, absolutely lovely fella and will be so loyal and loving in his own special way to very a special companion... it will happen Tag, you aren't the first who needs that extra special companion and no doubt you won't be the last, well done to all who have worked with this fella, he does you proud x
